Preqin (Private Equity and Venture Capital and Real Estate)

Information on private equity venture capital plus real estate deals, funds, investors and fund managers; allows users to analyze data across the entire investment lifecycle. Information on over 177,000 VC deals, 75,000 PE deals, and 80,000 RE deals. Data points include Cash flows into and out of funds, Funds terms including carried interest, management fees, hurdle rates, and more. 1953-present; more robust data: 2000-present.

The Private Equity and Venture Capital segments of Preqin may also be accessed through a WRDS account. The Real Estate segment cannot.

  • Corporate Governance: information on Poison Pills and Shareholder Activism U.S. companies may have faced.
  • Corporate Restructuring: Full details on U.S bankruptcies from 1988 to the present and limited information on Bankruptcies from 1980 to 1990. Also information on Exchange offers for U.S. companies. This data is currently being converted to the new platform. The vendor expects it to be available in Fall 2023.
  • Global New Issues: information on new issues of stock by public companies as well as information on Initial Public Offerings by previously private companies. For U.S. and non U.S. companies.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions: Joint Ventures and Repurchases: information on U.S and Non U.S. deals.
